My Writing Room

Random House do a regular Instagram feature on writers’ rooms, and they recently featured me and mine (more specifically, my writing room/spare bedroom).

I was delighted to be asked to feature because, coincidentally, it’s the first time I’ve had a designated room. After years of writing on my bed, on the kitchen table and in coffee shops, I finally bought a desk and filing cabinets, recognising this is my actual job now. And I love having my own work space, on which I can shut the door when need to.

Incidentally, I was featured on this series the week after Lee Child and, his writers’ room was a little grander and, crucially, wasn’t also his spare bedroom. But — you know — baby steps.
